The ED-222 is a Digital Depth Indicator suitable
for all classes of ships from pleasure craft to deepsea vessels. The ED-222
connects to Furuno navigational sounders as required by SOLAS, while it can be
connected to videosounders.
The water depth is continuously displayed on a large, three-digit LED
display. Display range is 0 to 999 meters with resolution of 0.1 m (for depths
from 0 to 99.9 m) or 1 m (for depths from 100 to 999 m ) up to maximum
capability of sounder. (Fathoms/feet selectable)
The ED-222 takes in an analog depth signal from the master sounder and
converts it to digital form. It can also accept a digital depth signal in NMEA
0183 or Furuno CIF format. The ED-222 features a low signal warning, shallow
water alarm, and special processing techniques offering excellent discrimination
between bottom and midwater echoes, such as large schools of fish.
ED-222 has one input port for analog depth signal, and two CIF/NMEA ports for
connecting with ED-2200 and video sounder.
